Custom Apparel Manufacturing Case Studies
Explore how Linkworld International develops custom sportswear, streetwear and private-label apparel from concept through production, quality control and export. This page sets out what a Linkworld case study records, which product categories and production techniques are covered, and what a buyer can take from them into their own project.
What a Linkworld case study records
A case study here is a production record, not a testimonial. Each one follows the same structure so that projects can be compared against each other and against your own brief.
- Project overview — product, client type, market and objective
- Client requirement — the fit, fabric, colours, artwork and branding asked for
- Product specification — fabric, GSM, construction, fit, decoration, labels and packaging, where those details can be disclosed
- Development — design review, tech pack, pattern, sample and pre-production approval
- Manufacturing — which of cutting, stitching, printing, embroidery, finishing and packing the order passed through
- Quality control — the checks applied to that specific garment
- Finished product — photography of the actual production run
- Outcome — what was delivered, in practical terms
We do not publish revenue figures, sales performance or commercial results. Those belong to the client, and a manufacturer quoting them is quoting something it cannot verify.
Why client names are often withheld
Most brands we manufacture for do not want their supplier published, and a number are contractually bound not to. Where a client has not given permission to be named, the project is described by type — a European sports club, a US streetwear brand, an independent apparel startup — and the technical detail is published without the identity.
Where a client is happy to be named and credited, we name them. We do not list brand names we have not worked with, and we do not imply relationships from a single sample order.
Product categories covered
Documented projects span the categories below. Each links to the manufacturing page for that product, which sets out fabrics, construction options and decoration methods in full.
- Team sportswear — football kits, basketball uniforms, ice hockey jerseys, baseball and rugby
- Performance and activewear
- Streetwear — heavyweight hoodies, boxy tees, sweatsuits and jackets
- Varsity jackets with embroidery, chenille and appliqué
- Tracksuits and sweatsuit sets
- Private-label ranges finished under the client brand
- Custom sports bags and accessories
Production techniques documented
Projects are also worth reading by technique rather than by product, since the same decision — sublimation against embroidery, a heavier fabric against a lighter one — comes up across categories.
- Sublimated team jerseys, printed at panel stage before assembly
- Layered tackle twill and embroidered crests
- Chenille patches and 3D puff embroidery on varsity outerwear
- Screen print, DTF and puff print on heavyweight cotton
- Cut-and-sew pattern development from a reference garment
- Individual player names and numbers across a team kit
- Full private-label finishing: woven labels, neck prints, hangtags and packaging
What to take from them
If you are planning a similar project, the useful parts of a case study are the specification and the development sequence, not the photography. Read what fabric and GSM the garment used, how many sample rounds the fit took, which decoration method was chosen and why, and what the quality control focused on.
That is the same information we will ask you for when you send your own enquiry, and our enquiry checklist sets out exactly what to send.
Projects in preparation
Individual case studies are published as client permission and production photography allow, rather than written up from memory. Each one has to carry real specifications and real images of the actual run — a case study built from stock photography and invented numbers is worth less than no case study at all.
If you are an existing client and are happy for your project to be documented, or would like to be named and credited, contact us and we will put it together with you.
Discuss your project
Send your designs or references with quantities and your destination, and we will come back with pricing, a sampling plan and a confirmed production schedule.
Frequently asked questions
- Why are some clients not named?
- Most brands prefer their manufacturing partner not to be published, and some are contractually prevented from allowing it. Where permission has not been given, the project is described by type and the technical detail is published without the identity.
- Can you show me work similar to my project?
- Yes. Tell us the product, the fabric and the decoration method you are planning and we can share relevant examples and production photography directly, including work that is not published here.
- Can I see a sample before ordering?
- Sampling depends on the product, quantity and development requirements. For projects requiring a physical sample, one is produced before bulk manufacturing; for selected low-MOQ orders a pre-production sample or video may be prepared instead. The method is confirmed with your quotation.
- Do you publish production figures or sales results?
- No. We publish what we manufactured and how. Commercial results belong to the client and are not ours to quote.
