Custom Jacket Manufacturer
Linkworld International manufactures custom jackets and outerwear — windbreakers, coach jackets, bombers, canvas workwear and leather — cut and sew to your pattern with your own trims, linings and labelling.
Jackets we build
Outerwear covers a wider range than any other category we manufacture, and the build varies enormously between them. A single-layer coach jacket and a lined leather bomber have almost nothing in common on the factory floor.
- Windbreakers and packable shells
- Coach jackets, lined and unlined
- Bomber jackets in nylon, satin and wool
- Canvas and twill workwear jackets
- Denim jackets, raw and washed
- Leather and synthetic leather jackets
- Puffer and quilted jackets
- Overshirts and shackets
Layers decide the cost
The single biggest driver of what a jacket costs to make is how many layers it has. A one-layer shell is a fast build. Add a lining and you have doubled the pattern pieces and added a bagging-out operation. Add insulation between them and you have a third layer, quilting, and a construction that has to be planned so the fill does not migrate.
When you enquire, say whether the jacket is unlined, lined, or lined and insulated. It is the first thing we need and it moves the quotation more than the fabric choice does.
- Single-layer shells
- Lined jackets, in taffeta, mesh or cotton
- Quilted and insulated builds
- Fully lined leather and wool constructions
Fabric
- Nylon and polyester shell fabrics, with coated and water-resistant options
- Cotton canvas, duck and twill for workwear builds
- Denim, raw or washed
- Melton and boiled wool
- Genuine and synthetic leather
- Satin and poly-satin for bombers
- Quilting and insulation layers
Where a jacket needs to keep water out, be specific about what you are asking for. A water-resistant coating on a shell fabric is not the same as a waterproof garment with taped seams, and the difference has to be built in rather than claimed afterwards. We will tell you what a given construction actually does.
Trims and hardware
On outerwear, hardware is where a brand shows. Zippers, snaps, cord locks, eyelets and pullers are all specifiable, and getting them right is the difference between a jacket that reads as a product and one that reads as a sample.
- Metal and moulded zippers, with custom pullers
- Snap and press-stud fronts, with branded heads
- Storm flaps, chin guards and zip garages
- Elasticated, rib, or adjustable tab cuffs
- Drawcords at hem and hood with branded tips
- Custom eyelets and rivets
Branding
Decoration method follows the fabric, and on outerwear the constraints are real. Embroidery on a coated or water-resistant shell perforates the face and can compromise the finish, so heat transfer, print or an applied patch is generally better. On canvas, denim and wool, embroidery and patches both work well. Leather takes debossing, foil and stitched patches rather than direct embroidery on the panel.
Woven labels, printed linings, branded hardware and custom hangtags are all produced to your specification. Full labelling programmes run through our private label service.

Frequently asked questions
- Can you make waterproof jackets?
- Be specific about what you need. A water-resistant coating on a shell fabric is not a waterproof garment with taped seams — that is a different construction and has to be built in. We will tell you what a given build actually does rather than overstate it.
- What affects the price most on a jacket?
- The number of layers. A single-layer shell is a fast build; adding a lining doubles the pattern pieces; adding insulation adds quilting and fill-migration planning. Tell us unlined, lined, or lined and insulated when you enquire.
- Can you embroider on nylon shell jackets?
- It is possible but often not advisable — embroidery perforates a coated face and can compromise water resistance. Heat transfer, print or an applied patch is usually the better route, and we will raise it at quotation.
- Can you supply custom hardware?
- Yes. Zippers with custom pullers, branded snap heads, cord locks, eyelets and rivets are all specifiable. On outerwear, hardware is where the brand shows most.
- Do you manufacture leather jackets?
- Yes, in genuine and synthetic leather. Leather panels take debossing, foil and stitched patches rather than direct embroidery, and are fully lined builds.
