Inside Our Apparel Manufacturing Facility

Linkworld International has been manufacturing custom apparel from Sialkot, Pakistan since 1990. Cutting, stitching, printing, embroidery, finishing and packing are handled in house, so a garment does not leave our control between the fabric arriving and the carton being sealed. This page walks through that sequence in the order a real order passes through it.

Why in house matters

A large part of the custom apparel market is brokered. An enquiry is taken by one company, the cutting is placed with a second, the embroidery with a third and the packing with a fourth. It works, and it is why lead times stretch and why a defect found at the end cannot be traced back to the stage that caused it.

Because our cutting, stitching, printing, embroidery, finishing and packing sit in one facility, an order can be inspected between stages rather than only on completion. A misaligned crest is caught before the panel is joined, not after two hundred garments have been assembled around it.

Design and development

Work starts with whatever you have: a finished tech pack, a set of artwork files, reference photographs, or a garment you want matched. The development team reads that against what is actually manufacturable and comes back with the gaps — a placement that will fall across a seam, a fabric weight that will not hold the fit you drew, a Pantone that will not reproduce in the print method chosen.

  • Tech pack review, or tech pack preparation where one does not exist
  • Artwork assessment for the decoration method being used
  • Fabric and trim recommendations against fit, weight and end use
  • Pattern drafting and grading across your size run

Nothing is cut until the specification and the mockup are approved in writing.

Fabric preparation

Fabric is received, checked against the approved specification and relaxed before cutting. Knits in particular are laid out and left to settle; cutting a roll straight off the delivery is how a garment comes back a size out after the first wash.

Where a fabric is being dyed to a colour standard, the lot is checked against the approved swatch before it is released to the cutting floor.

Cutting

Panels are cut from the graded marker. The marker decides fabric consumption and it decides grain direction, which is what keeps a side seam hanging straight rather than twisting around the body after wash.

Cut parts are bundled by size and colourway and ticketed, so panels from one lay stay together through the rest of production and shade variation is not introduced by mixing bundles.

Printing

Screen printing, sublimation, DTF and puff print are run in house. Which one a garment gets is a technical decision, not a preference: sublimation needs a polyester base and is used for full-coverage sports graphics; screen print sits on the surface and suits flat spot colour on cotton; DTF handles photographic and multi-colour artwork on short runs.

Sublimated panels are printed before assembly, so the graphic runs to the edge of the panel and through the seam rather than stopping short of it.

Embroidery

Artwork is digitised to a stitch file, run on a test swatch in the actual garment fabric, and adjusted before it goes near production. Density that looks correct on screen will pucker a light jersey and disappear into a heavy fleece.

Multi-head machines run the approved file across the order. Crests, chenille patches, appliqué and 3D puff embroidery are all produced on site.

Stitching

Assembly is run in lines, with each operation on a dedicated machine — overlock, flatlock, coverstitch, bartack. A supervisor checks the first pieces off each line against the approved sample before the line is released to run the balance.

This is the point at which most measurement problems are either caught or baked in, which is why the in-line check happens here rather than at final inspection.

Finishing

Thread trimming, pressing, and fitting of labels, drawcords, zip pulls and hardware. Woven main labels, neck prints, size and care labels and hangtags are applied to your specification at this stage.

Quality control

Garments are inspected against the approved sample and the measurement chart before they are folded. Measurement, stitching, decoration placement, colour consistency and finishing are all checked.

The full inspection sequence is set out on our quality control page.

Packing and export preparation

Garments are folded, polybagged where specified, and packed to your carton and labelling requirements — solid size cartons, ratio packs, or individual retail-ready packaging.

Carton marking, packing lists and the export documentation for your destination are prepared here. Shipping method, cost and transit time depend on destination, order size and weight, and are confirmed with your quotation.
